CRANE HUNTING

in Saskatchewan

Hunting Sandhill cranes is unlike any other waterfowl experience!

Sandhill cranes are warm weather birds who begin their migration at the first sign of winter.  This makes targeting them in September a perfect storm!

We will typically hunt crane-specific hunts in the mornings, as they are a great decoying bird as long as you are well hidden.  They have very keen eyesight and are tough birds to knock down due to their size.

The daily limit of sandhill cranes is 5 per person - the most anywhere in North America.

Sandhill cranes are known as the "ribeye of the sky" - and with good reason! These giant birds are similar to a ribeye cut of beef and are often considered the best tasting migratory bird.
